Vidir Gudmundsson and Helga Braga star in Mommy Knows Best, the prize-winning short by Bardi Gudmundsson.
Short Mommy Knows Best by Bardi Gudmundsson was recently selected Best Short at The Hamburg International Lesbian and Gay Film festival – Querbild. A few days later the film received the Audience Prize at The Madrid Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
The film stars comedienne Helga Braga Jónsdóttir as the mother and newcomer Vidir Gudmundsson as her son. The mother tries her best to wreck her son’s relationships with women to prevent him from leaving home. Matters take an unexpected turn when the son confesses to her that he’s gay.
Mommy Knows Best premiered at The Reykjavik International Film Festival in September and has since been screened at a number of international festivals, including Scandinavia, India and USA. European and American distribution deals are being negotiated.
Film is produced by Hrafnhildur Gunnarsdóttir at Krumma Films.
