The epic and darkly comic tale of Iceland’s most popular TV series ever, The Night Shift, The Day Shift and The Prison Shift (see ICN story here), will reach its culmination in the movie Mr. Bjarnfredarson, opening in Iceland on December 26th.

Directed by Ragnar Bragason and starring Jón Gnarr, Pétur Jóhann Sigfússon and Jörundur Ragnarsson, the film is a redemption story spanning almost fifty years, with emphasis on Georg (Gnarr), an over educated know-it-all, that has just been released from jail, but is still a prisoner of his own past.
The film is written by Jóhann Ævar Grímssson, Bragason and the main cast. Magnús Vidar Sigurdsson, Arnbjörg Haflidadóttir and Harpa Elísa Thórsdóttir are producers for Saga film. Released by Samfilm.
