Making movies - at Atlantic Studios...
Today sees the official opening of Atlantic Studios by Keflavík International Airport, a 2.220 sqm. sound stage with spacious production support areas and a 7.000 sqm. studio lot. The facilities, located only five minutes away from the Air Terminal and about half hour’s drive from the capital, are aimed at international and local filmmakers alike and by far the biggest of its kind in Iceland.
Situated in the recently abandoned US military base at Keflavík Airport, the studio offers access to a swimming pool for underwater filming, a cinema, a typical American high school gymnasium and to various street locations in the vicinity. In the area is also a small supermarket, a gym, a nightclub and a golf course.

The studio is a converted air hangar at the former Keflavík Naval Base.
