The 11th Edda, The Icelandic Film and TV Awards, will be handed out Saturday February 27th at Háskólabíó cinema. The ceremony will be broadcast live (and un-scrambled) on Channel 2, which has not carried it since its inauguration in 1999. Pubcaster RUV declined to renew broadcasting rights due to cutbacks. The nominations in a total of 22 categories, including Motion Picture of the Year and TV Series of the Year, will be announced in a few days. The awards is run by The Icelandic Film and Television Academy, a pan-industry body.
