Director Fridrik Thór Fridriksson’s career is celebrated widely this summer, with major retrospectives at three European festivals. The first one was Slovakia’s Art Film Fest (June 17-25), where his entire oeuvre was screened; the second was Armenia’s Golden Apricot, where Fridriksson also chaired the main competition jury, and the third is the upcoming Summer Film School in the Czech Republic (July 23-August 1), which is staging a major retrospective of Icelandic cinema.
