Valdís Óskarsdóttir was selected for the program Variety’s Ten Euro Directors to Watch, which was presented by the European Film Promotion at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. In support of this honour, Valdís Óskarsdóttir latest feature film, King’s Road, was screened.
At the invitation of European Film Promotion (EFP) and KVIFF, ten first and second time directors from across Europe are presenting their films at “Variety’s Ten Euro Directors to Watch” from July 3 – 4 to enthusiastic audiences as well as the film industry and international press. Launched 14 years ago, this popular sidebar has strengthened its focus on creative filmmakers who are at the beginning of their feature film careers and have created exciting films bearing an exceptional perspective. The ten directors were selected by critics from the international trade magazine Variety. The MEDIA Programme of the EU and the ten participating EFP member organisations are supporting the event.
