Rúnar Rúnarsson’s Volcano (Eldfjall) will be Iceland’s entry to the Academy Awards preselection in the foreign picture category. The film premiered at Cannes this year and wil have it’s Icelandic premiere on September 29th.
The film has also been preselected for the European Film Awards.
